Adobe CS 4 will hangs at 80% of installation

Just hangs while "checking system profile"

Note:
(Point Zero's issue...DVD-ROM faulty. Ran Disk Utility simultaneously with installer and the installation went through fine.)

Mount the setup image, in my case it is Adobe Master CS4 (ADBESTAMCS4_LS5.dmg)

Open up terminal
Login as Super User
"sudo -s"
"*******"
Go into the Disk directory
"cd /Volumes/Adobe\ CS4\ Master\ Collection\"
Go Further
"cd Adobe\ CS4\ Master\ Collection\Setup.app\Contents\MacOS\"
Open the Installer
"open ./Setup"

And there you go!

Multiple lines in a single Excel field

http://8help.osu.edu/3290.html

In Microsoft Excel, it is possible for a single cell to include multiple lines, or a list of items - however, there is no automatic way to do so.

To accomplish this:
  1. Select the cell which will hold the list/multiple lines.
  2. Go to the Format pull-down menu and Select Cells.
  3. Go to the "Alignment" tab.
  4. Under "Text Control", click "Wrap Text".
  5. Click OK to apply the changes & close the window.
  6. Now, within the selected cell, type the text to include. For each end-of-line or separate list item, press the Alt and Enter keys simultaneously (Command+Alt+Return on a Macintosh). This will begin a new line within the same cell.
  7. If you wish, you may also add bullet points for your list.

Make Vista Business Bootcamp Partition work with Parallels 3.0

http://forum.parallels.com/showthread.php?t=16121

Try this. It is intended for Parallels Desktop 3.0 but it works in a similar manner for Bootcamp.

Prepare the VM to repair using the Windows Setup DVD
1. Start Parallels Desktop and select the broken VM but don't start the VM.
2. Go to “Edit \ Virtual Machines” on the Parallels Desktop menu to access the Configuration Editor.
3. Click Options on the Resource pane on the left.
4. Click on the General tab if not already there.
5. Select OS Type: Windows, and select OS Version: Windows Vista.
6. Click on the Booting tab.
7. Select the following Boot Sequence: CD-ROM, Hard Disk, Floppy.
8. Click "CD/DVD ROM 1" on the Resource pane.
9. Verify that the Device Status is set to "Enabled" check "Connect at startup".
10. Set the Emulation to " Use CD/DVD-ROM" and select "Default CD/DVD-ROM".

The following step (#11) might not be necessary but since I did that in my quest to find a solution I will mention it. If you follow that step just make sure to undo it after your VM is fixed.
11. Click on "Network Adapter 1” and uncheck "Enabled".

12. Click OK to accept the changes.

Windows Vista repair
1. Insert the Windows Vista DVD in the drive
2. Restart the VM and press any key to boot to the MS Windows Vista DVD
3. Choose the option to Repair the existing Windows installation.
4. Try starting Windows again. Re-install Parallels Tools if necessary.

That’s it! Your VM should work after that.
